Race Divisions Breakdown:

1K Tech Course

The 1k (.62 miles) is a technical course for anyone 17 and under; this race will run directly in front of the spectators. You’ll be able to watch the intense event where these kids are going in and out of the water with a final finish line on the beach.

3k Sprint

The 3k sprint (1.86 miles) is two loops inside Bonita Cove where the technical elements will run directly in front of the spectators. Looking for one of the most fast paced captivating races – make sure to watch this one!

5k Distance

The 5K should draw the biggest crowds and racers as the 5K (3.1 mile) race is the most popular. With all age and skill levels going head to head you will likely see the most dramatic finish line paddle battles here.

10K Distance

Double the distance and twice the work is the 10K (6.2 miles) where only the most skilled racers will be fighting for that coveted 1st place award. Definitely something to watch as everyone cheers in the racers as they cross the finish line.

Quick Quotes from Event Founders

“We’ve put everything we have into these events & it’s encouraging to see a positive response from both the athletes and the Paddle Racing World in general. We knew if we provided a fun, well run event, San Diego could eventually be home to a World Class SUP & Prone Paddle series that everyone would be proud to support.” – Brian Terhost

“Prone paddle racing is a priority for us this season. Some of the best Prone paddlers on the planet call San Diego Home. There has been a resurgence in Prone Paddle Racing in recent year and we love it! If you have never tried to race Prone Paddle, but have always wanted to… the 3K is a great distance to give it a go. “Not too far to kill ya’ … but just long enough to give you a taste for the sport.” – Leslie Terhost

We hope to see everyone at the event – The ISLE Crew!
