23rd Annual Hanohano Huku Ocean Challenge

As the 2018 Gold Sponsor, we are excited to announce the 23rd annual Hanohano Huki Ocean Challenge! The Ocean Challenge is presented by the HanoHano Outrigger Canoe Club and will attract more than 600 paddlers of all ages, from top level professional athletes to beginners. It is one of the longest running paddle sport races in California.

Where

The paddle race will be held at Bonita Cove in Mission Bay. Get directions here.

When

The event will take place on Saturday, January 27th from 7am-2pm.

Races

Paddlers will compete in either a 5 or 9 mile course in Mission Bay. Schedule is as follows:

  • 7:30–9:00: Registration and Breakfast
  • 9:15-9:30: Start Short Course
  • 11:00: Long Course Heads to Start
  • 11:15: 1000 Meter Junior Race
  • 12:30: Lunch Available for Purchase
  • 1:00-2:00: Award Ceremonies & Raffle
